The Challenge

Creating a comfortable environment for young children is a priority for any nursery, particularly during periods of strong sunlight when large areas of glazing can result in

excessive heat and uncomfortable levels of glare.

Springboard Nursery, with settings in both Anlaby and Willerby, approached Solarfrost Window Films to improve the comfort of its internal spaces while retaining the benefits of natural daylight.

With children spending significant amounts of time in the nursery environment, the objective was to find a practical solution that could help control solar heat gain and glare without the need for major alterations to the existing glazing.

The Solution

Following an assessment of the glazing at both locations, Solarfrost specified and professionally installed specialist solar control window film.

The film provides an effective retrofit solution, helping to reduce the amount of solar energy entering through the glass while controlling harsh sunlight and glare.

Importantly, the solution works with the existing glazing, avoiding the cost and disruption associated with replacing windows or installing more substantial shading systems.
